Position Summary
The Europe Intelligence Analyst will be part of the Europe‑Eurasia Team, which supplies and maintains analytical and investigatory services on geopolitical and security developments in the region. As the Europe Intelligence Analyst, you will detect, analyse, and advise on adverse conditions that could affect the safety, security, and operational continuity of our clients. These conditions include, but are not limited to: political instability and unrest, crime, terrorism, activism, governance risks, and an awareness of cyber threats. While the role is primarily focused on Europe, with a specific focus on Germany and/or central Europe, you might often be faced with tasks of a global nature that require a broad understanding of intelligence in world affairs.
You will research and analyse a wide range of information and write regular high‑quality analytical reports to strict deadlines, which deliver insight and value to our clients. In addition, you will engage directly with clients to provide immediate support and consulting. Aside from written analysis, you will partake in podcasts and deliver presentations to expert audiences around the world.
This is a hybrid role, requiring working in our London office at least 2 days a week.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Plan, research, and write regular analytical reports delivering actionable insight to clients on political, security, criminal, and governance issues.
- Deliver tailored threat assessments to meet specific client requirements and timelines.
- Actively monitor regional security incidents to determine potential impact on client operations and interests.
- Stay current on strategic developments throughout the region to inform threat assessment frameworks.
- Contribute to and maintain company‑wide threat assessment scoring methodologies based on regional expertise.
- Cover for other regional analysts during absences or high‑demand periods as required.
- Work with extensive data sources to identify patterns and extract meaningful intelligence insights.
- Produce clear, impactful visual representations of analytical findings for client presentations.
- Attend relevant conferences, seminars, and networking events to promote the company's reputation and gather intelligence.
- Handle highly sensitive and confidential information in accordance with security standards.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of analytical teams to deliver comprehensive assessments.
- Maintain company culture, ethics, and professional standards within the analytical team.
- Perform additional duties and take on new responsibilities as business needs change.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities while maintaining quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of the European political, security, criminal and governance landscape with a strong interest in intelligence matters.
- Experience or deep knowledge of Germany and/or central Europe is particularly desired.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to rapidly digest, evaluate and synthesise large quantities of information from diverse sources.
- Strong personal initiative and ability to take ownership of complex tasks while delivering solutions under minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated analytical flair with the ability to provide rigorous, creative insight into complex geopolitical situations.
- High‑level competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and data visualisation tools.
- Established professional network within relevant industries, government or academic sectors.
- Advanced experience working confidently with large datasets and statistical analysis methods.
- Native regional insight with previous experience living, working or studying in European markets.
- Professional experience in intelligence, geopolitical analysis or security‑related disciplines in the public or private sector.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in International Relations, Politics, Security or a related field.
- At least two years of work experience in a related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge of a principal European language (ideally German, Italian or Polish).
- Eligible to work in the UK.
