We are looking for a Travel Security Specialist to join an embedded global travel security programme for a tech client. This role will support regional security leads in delivering travel risk management, ensuring business travellers are supported in a range of environments. The client’s travel security function supports a large and geographically distributed workforce, enabling safe and efficient travel in complex and sometimes high-risk environments. This role will contribute to project management, operational delivery, and programme development. This role will involve some business travel, potentially at a cadence of once a quarter and including to medium and high-risk destinations. You will contribute to global travel risk monitoring, supporting the development of travel risk levels, delivering security assessments, and assisting with crisis response and planning. The role also includes responding to traveller queries, contributing to projects, and helping to continuously improve programme delivery. This is a hybrid role working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, with at least three days a week based at the client’s London office. There may be occasional need to work out-of-hours during emergencies and time-sensitive matters.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of global geopolitical and security developments to inform travel risk assessments
- Support with the delivery of cross-functional projects and security training that enhance the travel security programme and services
- Support high-risk travel planning, risk assessments, and approval processes
- Ensure travel security briefings and risk levels remain accurate, relevant, and up to date
- Support crisis response and incident management activities as required
- Provide guidance and insights to stakeholders on travel security risks, trends, and development
- Manage travel security data and identify trends to inform programme improvements
- Produce written reports and deliver clear, concise briefings and presentations
- Support the identification and coordination of security vendors where required to support travel
- Respond to travel security queries from stakeholders across the organisation
- Support and, where required, conduct in-country security assessments in medium and high-risk environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of travel security, geopolitical risk, and OSINT methodologies
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver work independently
- Ability to stay informed on global events and translate insights into practical travel security guidance
- Strong understanding of the travel risk management field and frameworks for delivery
- Understanding of key travel security best practices and industry standards
- Demonstrable experience producing high-quality written work and presentations
- Strong collaborative abilities, building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
- Strong ability to distil complex information into clear, concise outputs
Qualifications
- At least three years of experience in travel security or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, or equivalent professional experience; Master’s degree or advanced qualifications preferred
- English fluency required; additional language skills are beneficial
- Experience delivering projects or workstreams independently, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Demonstrable experience in travel risk management, including assessing risks in international contexts
- Working knowledge of global geopolitical risk and intelligence analysts (including OSINT methodologies)
- Preferred familiarity with using AI tools, data, technology, or automation to support workflows
- Preferred experience working and/or travelling across a range of environments, including those with elevated security risks
- Preferred industry-specific certifications or training (e.g. hostile environment training, security risk management courses, medical or close protection qualifications)
