20 hours per week, term‑time only (34 weeks plus attendance at INSET and Safeguarding training).

One year fixed term contract starting September 2026.

Sibford School are now seeking an exceptional Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who has a range of special educational needs, including communication, social, emotional, sensory and learning difficulties.

The role involves implementing strategies to help the pupil achieve their individual goals, access the curriculum and develop independence in a supportive and nurturing environment.

  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential).
  • Understanding of special educational needs, including communication difficulties, social‑emotional challenges, and sensory processing differences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Effective organisational and time‑management skills to support learning and maintain records.
  • Patience, empathy and the ability to adapt to changing needs.
  • Awareness of or willingness to train in evidence‑based interventions and strategies for supporting pupils with SEND (e. g., Zones of Regulation, Colourful Semantics, or assistive technology).
  • Relevant Level2 or Level3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
  • Training in special educational needs (e. g., Autism, Speech and Language or Emotional Literacy) is advantageous but not essential.
