About The Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Sustainability Specialist to help manage and develop our UK land and mineral portfolio. Ideally based near our Bent Farm office in Cheshire, we are also open to candidates across the UK able to work in a hybrid model in any of our different offices. Occasional travel is required, so a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential.

You will contribute to the sustainable growth of our mineral assets through a mix of planning, estate management, environmental compliance, and stakeholder engagement, playing a key role in securing long-term mineral supply in alignment with our ESG goals.

In this job, your responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Lead planning and environmental permitting activities, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
  • Support the implementation of ESG strategies in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Manage relationships with landowners and landlords to secure long-term mineral supply.
  • Represent the company in community and stakeholder engagement throughout project lifecycles.
  • Maintain and update the company’s land register and Terrier asset database.

To be successful on this job, you have:

  • Degree in Town Planning, Estates Management, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • 2–3+ years of experience in mineral planning and estate surveyance.
  • Strong knowledge of mineral property law and landlord/tenant legislation.
  • Proven experience managing planning applications within extractive or heavy industries.
  • MRTPI and/or MRICS membership (or working toward it) highly desirable.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with senior professionals, internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Adaptable, flexible with the ability to work to numerous pressurized deadlines
  • Full UK Driving License and willingness to travel around UK sites. (Note: Occasional travel overseas may be required dependent on business needs)
