Your Impact in This Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter to grow sales in new areas and markets. Sibelco high magnesium olivine is mined and processed at Åheim, on the west coast of Norway. Åheim is the world’s largest commercial olivine operation with up to 150 years of reserves. Olivine is a highly versatile mineral, delivering benefits across a wide range of applications, including building materials, SCM, ballast, carbon capture, etc. 99% of its production is exported/shipped all over Europe and on all the other continents. The Sales Manager Olivine will be responsible for achieving maximum profitable growth and sales objectives (volume, net sales, and gross margin) in line with Sibelco’s vision, strategic objectives, and policies globally. You are responsible for identifying new sales opportunities, commercializing new products, and developing sales into new applications in conjunction with the Technical Department. The Sales Manager understands the market and key players active globally and builds the necessary market intelligence to retain and extend the Customer portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit customers and potential customers, find and develop new opportunities to achieve the highest value.
  • Develop an understanding of the products that will help selling formulation solutions.
  • Develop a thorough grasp of the market, including customer needs, competitors, trends, impact of local legislation.
  • Develop and achieve budgeted sales targets year after year.
  • Set prices and payment terms in line with Sibelco’s pricing and payment structures for the region and application and achieve the end financial target; receivables, payment terms.
  • Map competition to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Provide operations and supply chain with on-time information to schedule the activities for the short/medium/long term period.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree or Equivalent in Chemistry, Economics, Marketing, etc.
  • Significant prior experience in sales role in mineral industry or related industry.
  • English – fluent, plus any other language(s) a bonus.

What You Bring To The Table:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in deal negotiations for complex key accounts, driving sales and marketing through large sales teams.
  • Experience in key market segments (glass, ceramics, building materials, coatings and polymers) is an advantage.
  • Excellent English is vital, any other language is a plus.
