As a Care Assistant, you will provide person‑centred support to adults living in supported accommodation. Your role is to promote independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing while ensuring safe, high‑quality care in line with CQC standards.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver person‑centred personal care including washing, bathing, dressing, toileting and continence care in line with the service‑user's care plan.
- Assist with safe moving and handling using equipment as specified in the risk assessment.
- Prepare and assist with meals and nutrition; monitor fluid and food intake.
- Support with medication in accordance with the CQC medication policy and relevant training.
- Promote independence, dignity and choice at every interaction.
- Accurately complete electronic care records (eMAR) and escalate any concern about a service‑user's wellbeing to the Senior Care Worker on duty.
- Work within the Fundamental Standards of Care and the Care Certificate Standards.
Requirements:
- Previous care experience is desirable but not essential.
- Full training provided.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends or evenings.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience in supported living or learning disability services.
- Medication training.
- Driving licence (advantage but not required).
