Siamo Recruitment has partnered with a leading and bespoke manufacturer in Cirencester. We are looking for a talent with a hands-on mentality and prior exposure working with hand tools. This role is all about a willingness to learn, develop, and be trusted within a growing employer.
On the general day to day, you will be joining a small team of 6 on site as a Timber Operative. As a Timber Operative, you’ll work alongside experienced craftsmen who take pride in cutting, preparing, and finishing products to precise specifications to ensure customer satisfaction. Whether you’re just starting out or bringing years of hands-on experience, this is a place where your contribution matters and we’d love to hear from you.
Working Hours: Monday-Friday: 09:00am – 17:00pm

Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading timber using manual handling techniques and lifting aids when needed.
- Assisting with the movement and organization of timber stock in the yard.
- Sanding, planing, or preparing timber for further processing or delivery.
- Operating a range of manual tools such as fixed saws, chainsaws, large handheld planers, and sanders, for measuring, marking, and adjusting beams to specifications.
- Maintaining and cleaning hand tools regularly to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Adhering to all site safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
- Conducting basic visual checks on timber for defects or inconsistencies.
- Reporting damaged or defective beams to supervisors.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Some experience using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, and planes is advantageous.
- Good physical fitness and manual handling skills.
- A strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
- A practical mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work safely and follow instructions in a team setting.
- A Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
