The predicted salary is between 11.7 - 14.3 £ per hour.
We are looking for someone to work in a Scrap Metal Yard based in Leicester, LE4. The role involves using an Oxygen/Propane Burner to dismantle and cut large metal parts. Ideally you will have had some similar experience using cutting/burning tools, however training is provided. Full PPE is provided. Please note that this role is an outdoor role.
THE ROLE
- Cutting and processing various types of scrap steel
- Using burning and cutting equipment safely and efficiently
- Preparing materials for further processing
- Supporting general recycling and yard operations when required
- Working closely with colleagues to maintain an efficient workflow
- Following all environmental and health and safety procedures
- Keeping the working area clean, safe and organised
ABOUT YOU
- Previous experience working as a Steel Burner, Scrap Metal Burner or in a similar role is desirable although not essential
- Competent and confident using steel burning and cutting equipment
- Good understanding of safe working practices
- Comfortable working outdoors in a busy industrial environment
- Reliable, hardworking and able to follow instructions
- Physically able to undertake manual work
