We are currently recruiting for an experienced CAD Designer to join a well-established manufacturing and printing company based in Godmanchester, Cambridgeshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong technical design background within packaging who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.
The successful candidate will support both the design and reprographics teams, ensuring packaging designs are production-ready, technically accurate, and delivered efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create technical CAD drawings and production profiles including Braille, embossing, foiling and varnish requirements
- Support the reprographics team from initial artwork through to final production
- Carry out technical checks on tooling requests to ensure suitability for production
- Liaise with suppliers and tooling manufacturers regarding technical specifications
- Produce layouts that maximise production efficiency across multiple sites
- Ensure all customer-facing artwork and packaging designs meet high-quality standards
- Support structural design and sampling teams when required
- Keep up to date with packaging, machinery and industry developments
- Assist with process improvements and adapting to new systems and software
Requirements:
- Previous experience within packaging, manufacturing or print design
- Strong working knowledge of Esko Artios CAD
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Positive and proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with both on-site and remote teams
