Overview
Fitter/Fitters Mate – Leicester, LE19
Salary: £12.50 – £15.00 per hour depending on experience
We are recruiting a Fitter\’s Mate for a workshop in Enderby, Leicestershire, LE19. This is a workshop-based role with occasional on-site fitting of high-end worktops and fireplaces at prestigious properties. You will work with an experienced fitter and may travel to site locations.
You MUST hold a valid UK driving licence. The role has the potential to lead to a permanent position after a successful 12-week period.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate machinery in a safe manner.
- Use hand tools to achieve required finishes.
- Cut materials using hand tools and machinery.
- Move materials and finished products around the workshop.
- Assist in cutting and fitting worktops and fireplaces in domestic and commercial properties.
- Maintain a high standard of presentation due to high-end clientele.
- Perform manual and occasionally heavy lifting tasks.
Skills & Experience
- Experience of fitting and preparing products.
- Experience using hand tools.
- Experience in labouring, kitchen fitting, carpentry or glasswork is beneficial.
- Ability to move and handle heavy materials and equipment.
- Good understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Working Hours
Standard Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30 – 16:00 when based in the workshop.
On-site, earlier starts and later finishes may be required depending on location and job. Flexibility is essential. Overnight stays may be required.
