Siamos Recruitment are looking for a material controller to work within the planning and logistics department in our well-established precision machining company in Coventry. This is a temporary to permanent position starting immediately for the successful candidate.
Working hours are:
- Monday to Thursday - 7:30am to 4:30pm (4 start time options: 6am or 6:30am or 7:00am)
- Friday- 7:30am to 12:30pm (4 start time options: 6am or 6:30am or 7:00am)
Pay: The pay is Β£14.00 an hour.
As a Material Controller at D&S Engineering, duties will include:
- Ensure the goods in, stores and despatch area within the factory is run efficiently in order to provide a good reliable service to support the manufacturing process.
- Operating mechanical handling equipment including counterbalance forklift truck and operating automatic Billet Saw to provide materials for machining.
- Communicate with internal and external customers and suppliers to arrange deliveries.
- Despatch, liaising with Planning Manager, for goods out, ensuring that all products are packed appropriately to prevent damage in transit and the image of the company is maintained and improved.
- Provide material availability information to support new sales orders to the Planning Manager.
- Undertake the purchasing of non-production materials, including stationery, based on demand for all the different departments in the company and act as the interface with non-production materials suppliers.
- Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues to promote successful experience.
Required:
- 3-4 years experience in material handling and coordination in a manufacturing company.
- Previous stores experience preferably including quality.
- Goods in experience including booking in goods.
- Some experience of purchasing direct and indirect materials.
- Able to use measuring equipment, verniers, micrometres.
- PC Literate (basic knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel and Word).
