Requirements
- Previous career experience as a Data Engineer
- Strong experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or similar relational databases
- Experience building and maintaining ETL processes and data integrations
- Knowledge of database performance tuning, security, and backup procedures
- Understanding of data governance, GDPR, and data management best practices
- Experience with APIs and integrating multiple business systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and optimise systems and database infrastructure
- Work closely with a third-party database design consultant
- Build and manage ETL processes and system integrations
- Monitor database performance, security, and data integrity
- Consolidate or build data flows
- Ensure compliance with data governance and GDPR requirements
- Conduct diagnostic tests
- Collaborate with IT teams and third-party providers on database solutions
- Provide technical guidance and support on database technologies
- Lead the design, development, maintenance, and optimisation of databases, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and fit for the future
