Transport Planner / Logistics Administrator

Location: Biggleswade, Bedfordshire

Are you an experienced Transport Planner or Logistics Administrator looking for your next challenge? We’re recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing business that prides itself on delivering an outstanding service. As part of a small, close‑knit office team of three, you’ll play a vital role in keeping transport operations running smoothly while working in a fast‑paced environment where no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Coordinating daily vehicle movements and acting as the main point of contact for drivers.
• Planning transport schedules alongside the Senior Logistics Manager.
• Monitoring drivers’ hours and carrying out regular tachograph compliance checks.
• Liaising with operational sites regarding vehicle and stock movements.
• Managing vehicle inspections, MOT schedules, servicing, repairs and breakdowns.
• Maintaining accurate records for vehicles, trailers and transport costs.
• Managing company fuel card administration.
• Assisting with travel and accommodation bookings for operational teams when required.
• Providing administrative support to warehouse and stock teams.
• Handling general office administration, emails and telephone enquiries.

About You

You’ll be someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, takes pride in staying organised and can confidently juggle multiple priorities.

• Previous UK HGV transport planning experience (minimum two years preferred).
• Experience working within a busy office or logistics environment.
• A strong understanding of UK HGV legislation and transport compliance.
• Good working knowledge of tachograph regulations.
• Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• The ability to communicate confidently with drivers, managers and operational teams.
• A proactive, positive attitude and a willingness to get involved wherever needed.
• The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities while remaining calm under pressure.
