Fabrication MIG Welder Ampthill Road, Bedford | £40,000 per annum | Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm | 25 days annual leave + bank holidays Siamo Recruitment Bedford are working with an established manufacturing business based on Ampthill Road, Bedford, who are looking for an experienced Fabrication MIG Welder to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled welder/fabricator looking for a stable Monday-to-Friday role, excellent working hours and a salary of £40,000 per year. As a Fabrication MIG Welder, you will be responsible for fabricating and welding metal components, primarily mild steel, using MIG welding equipment, workshop machinery and technical drawings. You'll be involved throughout the fabrication process — from measuring and preparing materials through to welding, finishing and final inspection. Operate MIG welding equipment to join mild steel and other metals. Weld in flat, vertical and horizontal positions. Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols and technical specifications. Measure, cut, drill and accurately fit materials prior to welding. Fabricate and assemble components to required specifications. Grind, dress and clean completed welds to achieve a high-quality finish. Set up and safely operate workshop machinery, including drills and grinders. Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance of welding equipment. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. Follow all company health & safety procedures and use the correct PPE. Assist with internal stock control, ensuring materials and finished goods are stored and handled correctly.We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has: Proven experience in MIG welding and metal fabrication. Experience working with mild steel, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols. Experience with structural or sheet metal fabrication. Good knowledge of hand tools, power tools and workshop machinery. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work. A good understanding of workplace health & safety.
