Siamo Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Operative to join the Facilities Maintenance team at Cranfield University. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work, has a good eye for detail and is confident working across a busy university environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and deliver furniture, equipment, machinery, goods, hazardous chemicals and gases to departments across the University.
- Set up rooms with furniture, fixtures and fittings as required.
- Erect and dismantle equipment for graduations, events and other University activities.
- Carry out general building maintenance tasks, including clearing, cleaning and jet washing areas.
- Undertake window cleaning and painting works associated with ongoing building maintenance.
- Provide support to the Facilities Maintenance team and University contractors.
- Assist with statutory compliance testing where required.
- Unblock sinks and toilets as instructed by the Plumbing Team Leader.
- Replace toilet seats and carry out other general maintenance duties.
- Ensure appropriate health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Use computer-based systems for timesheets and work tickets following appropriate training.
- Undertake other duties within the general remit of the role as directed by the Director of Facilities.
