About the Role
We are looking for experienced and reliable Concrete Casters to join a busy manufacturing team producing high-quality precast concrete panels used in the construction of secure prison walls.
This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to health and safety.
You will be working as part of a team to manufacture reinforced concrete products to strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing moulds for concrete casting.
- Pouring, levelling and finishing concrete.
- Installing reinforcement and other components into moulds.
- Stripping moulds and safely removing finished concrete units.
- Carrying out quality inspections to ensure products meet specification.
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
- Following all health and safety procedures and site regulations.
- Working collaboratively with the production team to achieve daily targets.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working withconcreteor in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions and specifications.
- Knowledge ofconcretemixing, pouring, casting and finishing techniques.
- Experience preparing, assembling and stripping moulds/formwork.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Good attention to detail to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Manual handling capability and willingness to undertake physically demanding work.
- Good numeracy skills for measuring materials and checking dimensions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and good timekeeping.
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in precastconcretemanufacturing.
- Experience using overhead cranes (with relevant certification).
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- Knowledge of reinforcement placement (rebar, mesh or cages).
- Experience carrying out minor maintenance on moulds and equipment.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles.
- Basic IT skills for recording production or quality checks.
