Pay Rate: £17.00 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday - 7:00 16:00, Friday - 07:00-12:00 (flexibility required)

Overtime: Saturdays available at Time and a Half (£25.50 per hour)

About the Role

We are looking for experienced and reliable Concrete Casters to join a busy manufacturing team producing high-quality precast concrete panels used in the construction of secure prison walls. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to health and safety. You will be working as part of a team to manufacture reinforced concrete products to strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing moulds for concrete casting.
  • Pouring, levelling and finishing concrete.
  • Installing reinforcement and other components into moulds.
  • Stripping moulds and safely removing finished concrete units.
  • Carrying out quality inspections to ensure products meet specification.
  • Using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
  • Following all health and safety procedures and site regulations.
  • Working collaboratively with the production team to achieve daily targets.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with concrete or in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings, work instructions and specifications.
  • Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, casting and finishing techniques.
  • Experience preparing, assembling and stripping moulds/formwork.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Good attention to detail to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Manual handling capability and willingness to undertake physically demanding work.
  • Good numeracy skills for measuring materials and checking dimensions.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic and good timekeeping.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in precast concrete manufacturing.
  • Experience using overhead cranes (with relevant certification).
  • Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
  • Knowledge of reinforcement placement (rebar, mesh or cages).
  • Experience carrying out minor maintenance on moulds and equipment.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles.
  • Basic IT skills for recording production or quality checks.
