Siamo Recruitment are working with an established wood distributor based in Cirencester. They are seeking a hardworking, talented individual to join their dedicated team as a Sawmill Operative. As a Sawmill Operative, you will work collaboratively to ensure the manufacturing process runs smoothly and exceeds customer satisfaction. Training will be provided; however, experience within a production team is advantageous. Training and development are available, this is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop your skills within the production/manufacturing industry. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a team that cares about their product!

A brief overview of the role:

  • Location - Cirencester
  • £12.21 per hour
  • Monday - Thursday 07:00am - 18:00pm & Friday 07:00am - 16:30pm
  • Free onsite parking
  • Pension

Your role as a Sawmill Operative will involve the following duties:

  • Quality checking all goods throughout and post manufacture
  • Loading raw materials into the production process and potentially lifting/stacking finished pallets
  • Running safety checks on machinery
  • Machine operating safely and efficiently
  • Preparing products for dispatch and loading pallets for delivery
  • Liaising with supervisors with any issues
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Supporting team members regularly
  • General yard duties

The ideal candidate for the Sawmill Operative Position will have:

  • Production operative experience is advantageous
  • Previous experience working shift patterns is advantageous
  • Quality control experience is essential
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Good attentiveness and a keen eye for detail
  • Full UK Driving License and own transport
  • Physically able to lift up to 20kg regularly
