We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Coordinator in Thirsk to support a busy manufacturing/production environment on a temporary basis.
This is a hands-on, site-based role responsible for supporting day-to-day health & safety compliance, assisting with audits, maintaining documentation, and promoting a strong safety culture across operations. The position is offered on a fixed-term contract of up to 6 months, working full-time hours. Key Responsibilities Support implementation and maintenance of health & safety procedures across site operations Assist with risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work Conduct routine site inspections and report findings with corrective actions Maintain accurate H&S records, documentation, and compliance logs Support incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions Help coordinate safety training and toolbox talks Promote awareness of safe working practices across teams Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations Whats on Offer Β£16 per hour Full-time hours: 40 per week Contract duration: up to 6 months Opportunity to contribute to improving site safety standards Experience within a fast-paced operational environment Supportive team setting with varied day-to-day responsibilities Key Skills & Experience Previous experience in a Health & Safety or compliance-related role Working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practice Ability to carry out risk assessments and site inspections Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills Confident communicator across all levels of a business NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) desirable but not essential Proactive, practical approach to problem-solving in operational environments Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
