We are currently recruiting for an experienced Document Controller to support a major Project based in London. This position is with a business based in Teesside. The successful candidate will join the Quality team, responsible for managing, controlling, and coordinating all project documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the project document control system
- Ensure all documentation is accurately recorded, distributed, and archived in line with procedures
- Maintain document numbering, naming conventions, and revision control
- Track incoming and outgoing documents including drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence
- Support project teams with timely distribution of documentation to stakeholders
- Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients regarding submissions and approvals
- Monitor document review and approval cycles to ensure deadlines are met
- Ensure document control processes comply with quality management systems and client requirements
- Maintain accurate audit trails and support internal and external audits
- Store and manage documentation securely in line with data protection and company policies
- Produce regular document control reports, registers, and status updates
- Monitor KPIs related to document submission and approval timelines
- Escalate risks, delays, or issues to the Project Manager
- Support project close-out activities including handover packs, as-built documentation, and certifications
- Ensure all project records are complete, accurate, and properly archived
Working Pattern/ Details:
Full-time, on-site role based in London. Monday-Friday or 11-day fortnight (to be confirmed). The role is site-based in London, while the company is headquartered in Teesside. We are seeking candidates who are either locally based in London or able to commute. They are open to offering either a permanent position or engaging on a self-employed basis. Salary is negotiable and dependent on experience.
