Job Description Senior Tax Accountant The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join a friendly and established accountancy practice. This is a varied role, working with a diverse portfolio of clients and providing a combination of accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take responsibility for their own client work while also supporting and reviewing the work of more junior team members. Key Responsibilities Preparing financial accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Preparing personal and business tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Dealing with all aspects of taxation, bookkeeping and VAT. Finalising accounts and tax returns within strict deadlines. Liaising directly with clients and attending meetings to discuss accounts, results and tax matters. Reviewing and finalising work completed by more junior members of the team. Providing practical advice and support to clients where appropriate. Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to a high professional standard. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: At least 3 years' experience at a senior level within an accountancy practice. Strong practical knowledge of the main areas of taxation and accounting standards. Excellent organisational and time management skills. Strong communication and client-facing skills. Excellent literacy and numeracy skills. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and accountancy software such as QuickBooks, Xero, DEXT and Sage. The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team. A positive, proactive and "can-do" attitude.
