Job Description Accounts Assistant Location: Thirsk, North Yorkshire Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Job Type: Full-time An established and well-regarded accountancy practice based in Thirsk is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in accountancy practice who is looking for a varied role within a professional and friendly environment. The Role You will work across a varied portfolio of clients and will be responsible for a range of accounting and tax-related duties, including: Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records. Preparing and submitting VAT returns. Assisting with Corporation Tax returns and related work. Liaising with clients and dealing with queries in a professional manner. Managing your workload effectively and working to deadlines. Supporting the wider team with general accounting duties. About You The practice is open to considering candidates from a range of backgrounds, but you will ideally have: At least 3 years' strong experience working within an accountancy practice. Solid experience across accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT and Corporation Tax. Good technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
