Bookkeeper / Management Accountant
Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Role Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper / Management Accountant to join a growing accountancy practice in Teesside.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with a varied client portfolio and delivering accurate, timely financial information. You will support a range of clients with bookkeeping, VAT compliance and management reporting, while working as part of a collaborative and professional team.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients.
- Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations and journals.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital requirements.
- Preparing management accounts and periodic financial reports.
- Posting period-end adjustments, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
- Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide financial information.
- Supporting wider accounting operations and client requirements.
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, ideally within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
- AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience.
- Strong knowledge of VAT and Making Tax Digital requirements.
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reporting.
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
