Audit Senior
Location: Teesside
Hours: Permanent, full-time – 36.5 hours per week

We’re recruiting for an ambitious and confident Audit & Assurance Senior to join a thriving audit team, working with a diverse portfolio of medium and large-sized businesses across a range of industries.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for leading and delivering statutory audits for a varied portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies across different sectors.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering statutory audit assignments
- Performing risk assessments and identifying key audit issues
- Reviewing junior team members' work and providing support and guidance
- Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements
- Completing audit assignments within agreed deadlines
- Liaising with clients, managers and partners to resolve technical matters
- Supporting the development and coaching of junior members of the team
- Maintaining consistently high audit and professional standards
About You
We’re looking for an experienced audit professional who can demonstrate:
- At least 3 years' experience within a UK audit practice environment
- Experience leading and delivering statutory audits across a diverse client portfolio
- Strong experience with owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies
- Experience preparing statutory accounts
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A and UK GAAP
- A good working knowledge of relevant auditing standards, including UK ISAs
- Experience planning audits, carrying out risk assessments and identifying key audit issues
- The ability to supervise, coach and review junior team members
- Strong client communication and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, resilient and team-focused approach
- Currently studying towards, or already qualified in, ACA/ACCA
- Most importantly, you’ll have a growth mindset, take pride in delivering excellent client service and be motivated to continually develop your technical and professional skills.
