Tax Director An ambitious and well-established accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Tax Director to join its senior leadership team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished tax professional to lead a talented team while managing a varied portfolio of entrepreneurial businesses, high-net-worth individuals and privately owned companies.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the firm's tax offering, combining technical expertise with commercial awareness to deliver high-quality advice and build long-term client relationships.

The Role
Manage a diverse portfolio of private clients, business owners and corporate clients, providing both compliance and advisory services.

Deliver strategic tax planning across a range of areas, helping clients achieve their personal and commercial objectives.

Lead and oversee the personal tax compliance function, ensuring work is completed accurately and within deadlines.

Manage, mentor and develop members of the tax team, supporting their technical and professional growth.

Review complex tax work and provide guidance on technical matters.

Work alongside Partners and other senior leaders on advisory projects and business development opportunities.

Carry out technical research and provide practical solutions on complex tax issues.

Deliver internal training sessions and share technical knowledge across the wider business.

Build strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and representing the firm at meetings and networking events.

Contribute to the ongoing development of the tax department by identifying improvements to processes, systems and client service.

About You
CTA qualified is preferred, although ACA, ACCA or CA qualified candidates with significant tax experience will also be considered.

Extensive experience within an accountancy practice in a senior tax leadership role.

Strong technical knowledge across personal tax and private client advisory work, including areas such as inheritance tax, trusts, capital gains tax, residency and employment taxes.

Previous experience managing and developing a high-performing team.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Commercially minded with the confidence to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.

High levels of accuracy, attention to detail and professional judgement.

Confident using Microsoft Office and tax software.

Desirable Experience
Experience using recognised tax compliance and practice management software.

A track record of supporting business growth, winning new work or expanding client relationships.
