I'm working with a creative studio based in Knaresborough that is looking to appoint a Senior Character Animator to join their talented animation team. This is an opportunity for an experienced animator who thrives on solving complex technical animation challenges while creating exceptional, character-driven work. Working closely with the Creative Director, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality animations for a range of exciting projects.

As a senior member of the team, you'll not only produce outstanding character animation but also act as a technical problem solver, supporting and mentoring fellow animators, helping overcome creative and pipeline challenges, and driving animation quality across the studio. This is a hands-on role where you'll use 3DS Max to create expressive, believable character animation, alongside Adobe After Effects where required. You'll be someone who enjoys pushing quality, refining workflows, and collaborating with artists across the production pipeline to deliver outstanding results.

Requirements:

  • Proven commercial experience as a Senior or Lead Character Animator
  • Expert knowledge of Maya or 3DS Max
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects
  • Outstanding character animation skills with a strong understanding of movement, performance, timing and weight
  • A technical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot animation and rigging challenges, improve workflows, and support the wider team
  • Experience mentoring or guiding other animators within a collaborative environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for producing complex, high-quality animation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight production deadlines
