We are working with a well-established and growing organisation who are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Management Accountant to oversee the day-to-day finance function and support operational decision-making through accurate reporting and strong financial controls. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment and taking ownership of core accounting processes while supporting continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting packs
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis
  • Maintain robust financial controls and oversee day-to-day ledger activities
  • Review bank reconciliations, payment runs, VAT returns, and statutory submissions
  • Monitor debtor balances and support effective credit control processes
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and compliance requirements
  • Supervise and support an Administration Assistant within the finance function
  • Partner with operational teams and senior management to provide financial insight and improve processes

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
  • Strong knowledge of management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Good understanding of credit control and cash flow management
  • Experience supporting or supervising junior team members
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail

Desirable

  • ACCA/CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Experience working within an SME or multi-entity environment
