A well-established and growing professional services firm is seeking an Accounting Senior Manager to join its Business Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded accountant looking to take on greater responsibility, manage key client relationships, and play a pivotal role in the continued growth of the practice.
The Role
As an Accounting Senior Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of clients and lead the delivery of high-quality accounting and advisory services. You will work autonomously with clients, support the development of your team, and contribute to business development initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading client meetings independently and acting as the primary relationship manager for a designated client portfolio.
- Managing and approving fees for your portfolio of clients.
- Setting objectives for direct reports, monitoring progress, and supporting ongoing development.
- Monitoring team and individual performance against objectives and departmental KPIs, providing feedback to senior leadership where required.
- Building and maintaining a strong network of professional contacts to support business development and generate new opportunities.
- Assisting with recruitment activity and supporting people-related matters within the team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Be a qualified accountant (ICAS, ICAEW, or ACCA).
- Have strong experience preparing non-statutory accounts, sole trader and partnership accounts, and statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP.
- Possess a solid technical understanding of UK taxes, including personal tax, corporation tax, VAT, and capital taxes.
- Demonstrate awareness of wider advisory services to identify cross-referral opportunities.
- Be an excellent communicator with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences.
- Have proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing team members.
- Be commercially focused, with the ability to identify and drive business development opportunities.
