Payroll / Bookkeeping & Office Support Location: Knaresborough (on site) Hours: Part-time, ideally 25 hours per week across 5 days Salary: Β£32,000Β£35,000 FTE, depending on experience About the Role We are looking for an experienced Payroll / Bookkeeping & Office Support professional to join a small, established accountancy practice in Knaresborough. This is a varied, stand-alone role which combines payroll, bookkeeping and some general office/administrative support. It would suit someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable taking ownership of their workload, whilst also being happy to get involved in the wider day-to-day running of the office. Key Responsibilities Payroll Payroll will be a significant part of the role and will include: Processing monthly and weekly payrolls Ensuring payrolls are accurate, timely and compliant. Dealing with payroll queries from clients and colleagues. Maintaining accurate payroll records and documentation. Working confidently with payroll software, particularly Payroll Manager by Moneysoft. Bookkeeping Providing bookkeeping support across a varied client base. Working with Xero and QuickBooks. Supporting the existing bookkeeper, particularly during periods of annual leave or increased workload. Maintaining accurate financial records and completing bookkeeping tasks to a high standard. Liaising with clients where required. General Office & Administration The role also includes a range of general ad-hoc office and administrative responsibilities, making this a genuinely varied position. Duties may include: Answering incoming calls and welcoming clients to the office. General office administration and ad hoc support. Dealing with incoming and outgoing post. Ordering office supplies and helping to keep the office organised. Making refreshments for clients and visitors. Assisting with new client onboarding. Supporting client engagement processes. Assisting with AML checks and related administration. Supporting Companies House-related administration. Helping with other ad hoc tasks across the practice as required. About You We are looking for someone with solid, practical experience gained within an accountancy practice. You will ideally have: Previous experience processing payroll within an accountancy/practice environment. Experience with Moneysoft Payroll Manager or similar payroll systems. Good bookkeeping experience. Experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organisational and time-management skills. A professional and approachable manner when dealing with clients. Benefits 27 days holiday plus bank holidays. Workplace pension.
