We are looking to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join a well-established and growing organisation on a temp to perm basis. This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking for a flexible, part-time role within a supportive and down-to-earth team environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering an accurate and timely end-to-end payroll service for approximately 70 employees, covering both weekly and monthly payroll cycles. Working closely with HR and Finance, you will ensure all employees are paid correctly and on time, while maintaining full compliance with HMRC regulations, NAECI requirements, and internal company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payroll using Sage 50 Payroll
- Calculation of wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, and allowances
- Processing deductions (tax, NI, pensions, student loans, etc.)
- Inputting and validating timesheets for hourly staff
- Ensuring compliance with NAECI agreements and updates
- Processing statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
- Submitting RTI (FPS/EPS) to HMRC
- Administering pension auto-enrolment
- Handling payroll queries and resolving discrepancies
- Producing payroll reports and supporting month-end/year-end processes
- Maintaining accurate, GDPR-compliant payroll records
About You
Essential:
- Previous end-to-end payroll experience
- Strong experience using Sage 50 Payroll
- Good understanding of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, RTI, statutory payments)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable:
- Experience within engineering, construction, or industrial sectors
- Knowledge of NAECI agreements
- CIPP qualification (or working towards)
- AAT Level 23 or equivalent
- Experience managing both weekly and monthly payrolls
