Part time Chartered Financial Controller, Harrogate.
Due to the imminent retirement of their existing Financial Controller, an established business in Harrogate is recruiting for a Part time Chartered Financial Controller. Reporting to the 2 Directors, they can offer part time hours of 3 days/week.
This is a crucial role to the function and success of the business and will involve overseeing the company’s financial health and operations and ensuring compliance is met as well as supporting the 2 Directors with strategic decision making.
To be considered you must be:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with demonstrable post qualification experience at a senior level.
- Experienced in both industry and practice accounting.
Duties:
- Oversee and manage all of the company\’s financial operations and controls.
- Prepare, review, and present accurate financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including tax filings, VAT returns, and annual audits.
- Evaluate existing financial systems, processes and internal controls to improve efficiency and performance.
- Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and assist operational teams in managing budgets effectively.
- Manage cash flow, including forecasting and working capital management, to support business operations.
- Involvement with Trust Tax returns.
- Work with their external accountant and their bookkeeper.
Requirements:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified is essential with demonstrable post-qualification experience at a senior level.
- Proven experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance position ideally in an SME environment. Experience of working in facilities management, property services, or a related industry would be highly desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, regulations, and compliance obligations.
