Finance Manager (Part-Time), Harrogate, £45,000-£50,000 FTE Salary: £27,500£32,000 ( for 22.5 hours per week) Our client, an established SME business in Harrogate, is recruiting for an experienced Finance Manager to oversee their back-office operations, with responsibility for their financial management as well as some HR support This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple disciplines within a small business.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the organisation and will become an integral member of the management team.
This is an office based position, they can offer flexibility to work the hours to suit, over 3, 4 or 5 days.
The position has arisen due to retirement, a comprehensive hand-over will be provided.
Their offices have onsite free parking and are a short walk from a train station Key Responsibilities Finance Manage the company's day-to-day financial operations.
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and profit and loss forecasts.
Monitor cash flow and ensure all bank accounts are regularly reviewed and reconciled.
Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting.
Ensure financial transactions comply with accounting standards and company policies.
Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), external accountants, and other professional advisers.
Prepare and submit corporate tax returns and other statutory financial returns.
Support audit processes and maintain accurate financial records.
Payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
Human Resources (a smaller part of the role) Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with employment legislation.
Manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
Ensure HR documentation and company policies remain current and compliant.
Required skills Proven experience in finance management.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Experience working within a small business or small team environment.
Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, auditing, and management accounting.
Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
Sage 50 experience is desirable A recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) desirable
