We are working with a well established and forward thinking business who are looking to recruit a Sales Account Manager on a full time, 14 month maternity cover basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a sales professional to take ownership of a portfolio of strategic customer accounts, deliver revenue and margin growth, and identify new commercial opportunities within an established and growing customer base.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing long term customer relationships, maximising commercial performance, and delivering against sales and margin targets whilst working closely with internal stakeholders to support wider business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and develop a portfolio of strategic customer accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Drive revenue and margin growth by identifying opportunities to expand product penetration and service offering within existing accounts.
- Identify and develop new commercial opportunities to support overall business growth objectives.
- Build strong understanding of the product range and market positioning.
- Ensure customer contractual obligations are met, providing timely and accurate responses to enquiries.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within agreed frameworks to maximise profitability and maintain target margins.
- Work closely with the Commercial Lead to align activity with business priorities and budget expectations.
- Build and maintain strong, long term customer relationships, acting as a trusted commercial partner.
- Keep customers informed of relevant product updates, developments and opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer developments, feeding insights into commercial strategy.
- Participate in regular sales meetings to review performance, share insight and align priorities.
- Attend customer meetings and site visits across the UK and Europe as required.
- Prepare and communicate monthly sales and demand forecasts in collaboration with the wider team.
- Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts and activity within CRM and internal systems.
- Ensure all reporting and administration tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Deliver against individual and team key performance indicators.
- Support delivery of the wider sales strategy in collaboration with the Commercial Lead.
- Work cross functionally with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
- Support clear communication across departments to maximise customer value and service delivery.
- Understand customer credit risk and support appropriate commercial decision making.
- Operate in line with company values, promoting professionalism, collaboration and high performance.
- Proven sales and account management experience within a B2B environment managing mid to large scale customer accounts.
- Strong track record of delivering revenue and margin growth against targets.
- Excellent commercial awareness with experience in pricing and negotiation.
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proactive, self motivated and results driven approach.
- Strong problem solving mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and improvements.
- Confident user of CRM systems, ERP platforms and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel across the UK when required.
