We are recruiting for an experienced Traffic/Transport Planner to join a busy transport and logistics operation. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of transport planning and fleet scheduling who can effectively coordinate daily operations while maintaining excellent customer service and cost efficiency. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning vehicle movements, managing driver activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant transport regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Providing professional customer service
- Day-to-day load planning and scheduling of the fleet
- Prioritising workload and route planning
- Daily driver brief and de-brief
- Tachograph tracking
- Liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers
- Liaising with other internal departments
Key Skills & Experience:
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK
- Knowledge and understanding of Drivers Working Time Regulations
- Awareness of Drivers CPC legislation
- Effective team player
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good IT skills and exposure to route planning software or equivalent
- Transport related experience preferred
- Previous experience with Roadrunner or similar route planning software is essential
- Familiarity with common computer packages including Microsoft Office or equivalent
- Ability to demonstrate professional confidence and clear communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to learn quickly
