We are working with a well-established and growing organisation who are seeking an experienced and commercially aware Management Accountant to oversee the day-to-day finance function and support operational decision-making through accurate reporting and strong financial controls. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced SME environment and taking ownership of core accounting processes while supporting continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting packs
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis
- Maintain robust financial controls and oversee day-to-day ledger activities
- Review bank reconciliations, payment runs, VAT returns, and statutory submissions
- Monitor debtor balances and support effective credit control processes
- Assist with year-end audit preparation and compliance requirements
- Supervise and support an Administration Assistant within the finance function
- Partner with operational teams and senior management to provide financial insight and improve processes
Skills & Experience
- Essential
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong knowledge of management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Good understanding of credit control and cash flow management
- Experience supporting or supervising junior team members
- Proficient in Excel and accounting software
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Desirable
- ACCA/CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience
- Experience working within an SME or multi-entity environment
