We are recruiting a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Middlesbrough. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer to maintain and improve plant, equipment, and facilities, ensuring maximum operational efficiency in a safe and dynamic environment.

The role: As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of all plant and equipment. You will work independently and as part of a team, prioritising tasks to maximise equipment availability, maintain quality standards, and promote process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment faults
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns
  • Maintain and improve factory machinery, including CNC equipment
  • Undertake machining, welding, and fabrication tasks where required
  • Update documentation and support process improvements
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques such as 5S, 8D, and PDCA

Requirements:

  • ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering environment
  • Hands-on skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical diagnostics, and workshop machinery
  • Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills
  • Proactive “can-do” attitude and willingness to take on growing responsibilities
