We are recruiting an Electrical & Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Middlesbrough. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineer to maintain and improve plant, equipment, and facilities, ensuring maximum operational efficiency in a safe and dynamic environment.
The role requires a minimum 50/50 split between electrical and mechanical work, with preference given to candidates with a stronger electrical background.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment faults
- Perform planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns
- Maintain and improve factory machinery, including CNC equipment
- Undertake machining, welding, and fabrication tasks where required
- Update documentation and support process improvements
- Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques such as 5S, 8D, and PDCA
- ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering environment
- Hands-on skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical diagnostics, and workshop machinery
- Strong organisational, communication, and time-management skills
- Proactive can-do attitude and willingness to take on growing responsibilities
