Job Description

Management Accountant, Masham

A business in Masham is looking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant to join their team. You will be responsible for supporting financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting processes, ensuring the accuracy of financial records and the provision of insightful management information to guide business decision-making.

Working in a finance team of 3, you will be their number one accountant, you will report to their CFO who is based at their Southern office

Duties

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements

• Perform variance analysis against budgets and forecasts, providing commentary

• Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with departmental heads

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset registers

• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other regulatory/statutory reports

• Assist with year-end close and support external audits

• Monitor financial controls and propose improvements to processes and procedures

• Contribute to financial planning and analysis initiatives to support business growth

• Assist with project accounting and cost analysis where required

Requirements

• Part-qualified or qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)

• Strong understanding of financial and management accounting principles

• Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Oracle)

• Ability to analyse complex data and present key insights clearly

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team

Hours:

9-5pm (one hour for lunch)

Hybrid working can be offered, up to 2 days WFH

25 days holiday plus bank holiday
