Are you an experienced tax professional looking for your next opportunity within a friendly and established accountancy practice? We are currently recruiting for a Personal Tax Senior / Tax Assistant to join our Tax Department. This is a varied role with a strong focus on Personal Tax, offering the opportunity to manage your own portfolio of clients while developing your technical knowledge and taking on additional responsibility over time.
The Role
- Preparing Self Assessment and Partnership Tax Returns.
- Managing your own portfolio of clients and dealing with queries throughout the year.
- Liaising with clients and HMRC regarding tax payments, repayments and general enquiries.
- Preparing 60-day Capital Gains Tax (CGT) returns.
- Preparing Let Property disclosures.
- Assisting with smaller HMRC tax enquiries.
- Analysing rental income and expenditure for Self Assessment Tax Returns.
- Preparing information for Making Tax Digital (MTD) returns, primarily for rental properties and smaller self-employments.
- Preparing P11Ds.
- Supporting the wider Tax team with other tax-related work as required.
About You
We are looking for someone with at least two years experience in a tax environment, ideally with a strong background in Personal Tax. You will need to be confident working independently and managing your own workload, while also being a collaborative team player. Strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail and good time-management skills are essential. As you develop within the role, there will also be opportunities to support and assist trainees within the team. Experience of Corporation Tax or Sage Payroll would be advantageous, but is not essential.
