Our client is looking to appoint a Finance Assistant to join their friendly and collaborative team at their offices on the outskirts of Richmond, North Yorkshire. This is a 12-month maternity cover contract, ideally starting in November to allow for a thorough handover before the current Finance Assistant begins maternity leave in December. The finance and administration function is a close-knit team, with plenty of interaction and collaboration with senior management and Directors across the wider business.

Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a supportive finance and administration team, you will work closely with the Financial Controller, senior leadership team, and Directors, taking responsibility for a varied range of day-to-day finance and administrative duties, including:
  • Preparing and processing invoices and customer statements
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Tracking invoices and monitoring due and outstanding payments
  • Maintaining fee and quotation trackers
  • Updating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets for forecasting purposes using Excel formulas and functions
  • Processing and monitoring business expenses
  • Supporting the administration of company phone contracts
  • Maintaining accurate financial and administrative records
  • Providing general finance and administrative support across the business
  • Working collaboratively with the Financial Controller, senior leadership team, and Directors

Requirements/Experience:

  • Be working toward, or have achieved, AAT Level 2/3, or have equivalent practical experience
  • Have previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, or similar role
  • Have working knowledge of Sage 50; Xero experience would be beneficial but not essential
  • Be confident using Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and lookups
  • Have strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Be comfortable working as part of a small, collaborative team
  • Have a friendly, approachable, and professional manner
