An established accountancy practice is seeking an Accounts and Audit Senior to join its growing team. This position combines responsibility for leading audit assignments with the preparation of accounts and providing advisory support to a varied client portfolio across multiple industries.

The Role

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion for a wide range of clients, including large organisations, groups, SMEs and businesses with turnovers typically between £1m and £80m
  • Plan and carry out audits in line with UK Auditing Standards
  • Supervise junior team members, reviewing their work and providing guidance and feedback
  • Communicate effectively with clients throughout the audit process to manage queries and expectations
  • Produce clear and accurate audit working papers, financial statements and audit reports
  • Identify audit and accounting issues and discuss solutions with managers and partners
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts and the associated corporation tax computations and returns
  • Prepare Self-Assessment tax returns
  • Assist clients with day-to-day queries

The Candidate

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, or a finalist with strong relevant experience
  • At least 3 years audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP, FRS 102 and UK Auditing Standards
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical ability
  • Capable of managing multiple assignments and meeting deadlines
