We are recruiting for an experienced Traffic/Transport Planner to join a busy transport and logistics operation. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of transport planning and fleet scheduling who can effectively coordinate daily operations while maintaining excellent customer service and cost efficiency.

The successful candidate will play a key role in planning vehicle movements, managing driver activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant transport regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing professional customer service
  • Day-to-day load planning and scheduling of the fleet
  • Prioritising workload and route planning
  • Daily driver brief and de-brief
  • Tachograph tracking
  • Liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Liaising with other internal departments
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Knowledge and understanding of Drivers Working Time Regulations
  • Awareness of Drivers CPC legislation
  • Effective team player
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good IT skills and exposure to route planning software or equivalent
  • Transport related experience preferred
  • Previous experience with Roadrunner or similar route planning software is essential
  • Familiarity with common computer packages including Microsoft Office or equivalent
  • Ability to demonstrate professional confidence and clear communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to learn quickly
