Our client, a well established and growing business based in Leeming Bar, are looking to recruit a Packaging Planner to join their team. This is a hands on role sitting between supply chain, procurement and production, ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, building supplier relationships and keeping things running smoothly on site.
You will be responsible for ensuring packaging is available in line with production plans, managing stock levels, and reducing write off risk whilst maintaining flexibility to react to changing demand.
Key responsibilities:- Manage and maintain the packaging tracker, including new lines, delists and artwork changes
- Analyse sales forecasts and production plans to place packaging print runs at the right time and volumes
- Monitor and control packaging stock levels, avoiding excess whilst supporting production needs
- Work closely with suppliers, maintaining relationships and challenging stock where needed
- Support procurement with day to day supplier issues and provide cover during busy periods or absence
- Identify and manage write off risk, reporting across relevant departments
- Collaborate with supply planning, NPD and manufacturing teams to support packaging projects and changes
- Act as a key communication link across departments, attending daily meetings
- Strong Excel and data handling skills
- Able to analyse information and make informed decisions quickly
- Confident working both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships internally and externally
- An interest in supply chain, procurement or production environments
