We are currently working with a well-established food manufacturing business in the Bedale area that is looking to recruit a Hygiene Operative to join its day shift team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high hygiene standards and enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment.
The Role
As a Hygiene Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring that production machinery, equipment and factory areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and food safety. You will work across a variety of production areas and play a key role in maintaining a safe and hygienic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean production areas, machinery and equipment in line with Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs).
- Clean factory areas including walls, ceilings, floors, drains, windows and communal areas.
- Clean and sanitise production equipment, packaging areas, waste bins and welfare facilities.
- Ensure chemicals are handled, diluted and stored correctly in accordance with COSHH regulations and company procedures.
- Wear the appropriate PPE and report any incidents or concerns immediately.
- Complete and maintain daily, weekly and annual cleaning schedules and hygiene records.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of high hygiene standards across all production and communal areas.
About You
Essential Requirements:
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge and experience of chemical control procedures.
- Basic understanding of Health and Safety practices.
Desirable Requirements:
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing hygiene role.
- COSHH training or other relevant Health and Safety qualifications/training.
Performance in this role will be measured through hygiene verification, swabbing and cleaning validation results, ensuring consistently high standards are maintained throughout the facility.
Shift Pattern
06:00 AM - 16:00 PM until finish. Working pattern: 4 on, 2 off rotating shift pattern, operating seven days per week.
