The role
We're working with a well-established independent accountancy practice with 3 offices across the region, who are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied practice role, wants plenty of client contact and is confident managing their own workload. This role could be based out of any one of their 3 offices.
What will you be doing
You’ll have a genuinely broad role, working across accounts and tax for a varied portfolio of clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing year-end accounts
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Dealing with Making Tax Digital (MTD)
- Preparing CIS returns
- Preparing personal/self-assessment tax returns
- Dealing directly with clients and handling queries
- Managing your own workload and deadlines
- Working collaboratively with the wider team
What are they looking for
They’re open to candidates at different levels, so qualifications aren't everything. What matters is that you have solid accountancy practice experience and can get stuck in from day one.
You could be an experienced Accounts Assistant, Accounts Semi-Senior, Accounts Technician or Practice Accountant, or perhaps you're AAT qualified/part-qualified ACA or ACCA.
Requirements
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice
- Good experience of accounts preparation
- Exposure to VAT, CIS and corporation tax
- Experience preparing personal tax returns
- Good knowledge of MTD
- The ability to manage your own workload
- Experience of using IRIS, Sage 50, Xero, Quickbooks or similar
