We are currently supporting a well-regarded and forward-thinking firm as they recruit for a Client Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers a different approach to a traditional accounts position, combining core compliance work with a strong focus on client interaction, advisory support, and business development.
The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio while delivering both compliance services and value-added advisory support, working closely with clients throughout their financial year.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and individuals
- Prepare and oversee year-end accounts, tax returns, bookkeeping, and VAT work
- Provide proactive business advisory and development support to clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a main point of contact
- Keep clients informed on progress across all areas of service delivery
- Review work completed by team members to ensure high standards are met
- Support, develop, and motivate junior staff members
- Identify opportunities to introduce additional services based on client needs
- AAT Level 4 qualified (minimum requirement)
- Experience within a general practice environment, supporting owner-managed businesses
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience with cloud-based software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Full UK driving licence
- £31,032 - £36,653 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
- Employer pension contribution of 5% (on earnings above £6,240), matched via salary sacrifice
- Overtime paid at full salary rate and included as pensionable earnings
- Work-Life Balance: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm, 30-minute break)
