We are now recruiting for a Tax Compliance Senior to join our Tax Consultancy Service Line, based from our Glasgow office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join a growing and supportive team, working alongside experienced colleagues and contributing to the delivery of high-quality tax compliance services.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for preparing tax compliance work, managing technical areas within their portfolio and supporting the wider team in delivering an efficient and effective service. The main elements of this role will include:

  • Preparing tax information within relevant sections of tax software ready for review by a Tax Compliance Manager
  • Managing more complex areas within your portfolio, including profit sharing, farmers’ averaging claims, capital gains tax computations and other technical matters
  • Completing electronic submissions of tax returns to HMRC
  • Reporting HMRC compliance enquiry notices to the Tax Compliance Manager
  • Providing support and guidance to Tax Compliance Assistants
  • Sharing knowledge and supporting the development of colleagues within the team
  • Working collaboratively across the wider Tax Consultancy Service Line

The Candidate:

  • Either ATT or CTA qualified (desirable), although candidates who are Qualified by Experience will also be considered
  • A full UK driving licence (essential)
  • Experience of working in an Accounting or Tax Compliance capacity within an Accountancy Practice
  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage a varied workload
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • A dedicated team player, willing to support colleagues and contribute positively to the wider team
  • Able to prioritise workloads under strict deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Able to use initiative with strong organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
