Are you an experienced Employment Tax professional looking to take the next step in your career? We're working with a highly regarded accountancy practice seeking an Employment Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join its expanding tax team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries, delivering specialist employment tax advice while helping to shape and grow an established service offering.
You'll enjoy a varied mix of advisory work, client relationship management, mentoring colleagues and contributing to business development within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role
- Managing a varied portfolio of employment tax clients across multiple sectors.
- Advising clients on employment tax compliance and planning, including HMRC enquiries, employment status, IR35, National Minimum Wage, benefits in kind, salary sacrifice arrangements and wider employment tax matters.
- Leading complex advisory projects from initial scope through to completion.
- Acting as a trusted adviser and primary point of contact for clients.
- Supporting clients with HMRC enquiries, disclosures and settlements.
- Working closely with colleagues across tax, audit and accounts to deliver joined-up client solutions.
- Reviewing technical work and ensuring high-quality client service.
- Managing project budgets, deadlines and client expectations.
- Coaching, mentoring and developing junior members of the tax team.
- Delivering technical updates and training to colleagues and clients.
- Supporting business development through networking, proposal preparation and identifying opportunities within existing client relationships.
- Contributing to the continued growth and development of the employment tax offering.
About You
- Significant experience in Employment Tax gained within an accountancy practice or specialist tax environment.
- Experience operating at Manager or Senior Manager level, or someone ready to step into a Senior Manager position.
- Strong technical knowledge across all areas of UK Employment Tax.
- Experience advising clients on complex employment tax matters and HMRC enquiries.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to deliver practical, client-focused advice.
- Experience mentoring or managing junior team members.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to client service.
