Bookkeeper | Darlington | Competitive Salary
Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking to join a supportive and growing accountancy practice?
We're working with a well-established practice in Darlington that is looking to add a Bookkeeper to its team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building client relationships and is looking to develop their career within practice.
The role will initially focus on bookkeeping, with the opportunity to progress into accounts preparation after approximately 12 months for the right candidate.
The Role
- Managing bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Processing purchase and sales ledgers.
- Completing bank reconciliations.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Maintaining accurate financial records.
- Responding to client bookkeeping queries.
- Liaising with clients to obtain financial information.
- Supporting the wider accounts team where required.
About You
- Previous bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice.
- A good understanding of bookkeeping and VAT.
- Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Confident communicating with clients and colleagues.
- AAT qualified or currently studying would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
