A well-established organisation with over 30 years of continued growth is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join its supportive bookkeeping team on either a part-time or full-time basis. This position is based in Doncaster and involves working within a busy, positive, and expanding finance environment while supporting a broad and varied client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records for multiple clients, ensuring bookkeeping information is kept up to date
  • Carry out routine bank reconciliations
  • Prepare VAT returns in accordance with current legislation
  • Oversee day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks
  • Communicate with clients by phone and email, resolving queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide general administrative support, including scanning, digital filing, and similar duties

About You

  • A minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice
  • Confident using QuickBooks Online, Sage Business Cloud, and Xero
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experienced in preparing VAT returns, handling reconciliations, and familiar with VAT legislation and MTD requirements
  • Ability to complete CIS returns
  • Capable of reconciling control accounts accurately
  • Experience producing management accounts is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly explain financial information to clients
  • Highly organised with effective time-management and multitasking skills
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload efficiently
  • Detail-focused, accurate, enthusiastic, and a strong team contributor
